After a midweek defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League, Real Madrid tasted defeat in La Liga as they went down 3-2 to Real Zaragoza at home. Lafita’s first goal was aided by a horrendous error from Real keeper and skipper Iker Casillas. Real had Ricardo Carvalho, who also conceded a penalty, sent off late in the fixture.

Two late goals from Lionel Messi leave Real Madrid with a mountain to climb as Barca move into the driver’s seat with a 2-0 win at the Bernabeu. Three red cards in the game- Pepe, Jose Pinto and Jose Mourinho, with Adebayor narrowly escaping being no.4 in Wolfgang Stark’s books.
These two Lionel Messi goals vs Real Madrid gave Barcelona a 2-0 win over their arch rivals in the first leg of 2010/11 Champions League Semifinal. The game was always billed as Messi vs Real Madrid and Ronaldo vs Barcelona and the little Argentine rose to the occasion by scoring two goals against Madrid and putting his side in the driver’s seat ahead of the return leg.
The first Messi goal vs Real Madrid was set up by Dutch substitute Ibrahim Afellay, while the second Messi goal vs Real was a piece of individual genius from the Argentine, as he skipped past three Real Madrid defenders before producing a delightful finish. The second Messi goal in particular, is definitely worth watching.
