Zinedine Zidane’s men were 2-0 down at the interval after Emmanuel Dennis scored a bizarre double for Brugge, but they fought back to claim a point. It is the first time in the history of the Champions League group stage that Madrid have not won one of their opening two league games.

Here are the Spanish newspaper player ratings from Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Osasuna that saw Zinedine Zidane’s side go top of the league. Vincius Jr scored a great goal to set Real on their way, and Rodrygo doubled their advantage- the latter being the second fastest Real player to score on their league debut after Ronaldo.
The papers were full of praise for both Vincius and Rodrygo, but were disappointed by Luka Jovic. AS chose not to rate him, while Sport gave Jovic a player rating of 4/10. AS also thought Areola’s performance was worthy of only a single star, but Mundo thought otherwise, giving the goalkeeper three stars.
