This JWP handball vs Luton (OFFICIAL VIDEO BELOW) was a controversial incident towards the end of the West Ham Luton game on 1 September, 2023. In stoppage time, Luton fans thought James Ward Prowse had handled the ball in the box, but neither on-field referee Paul Tierney, nor VAR John Brooks thought it was a handball. Luton Town were trailing 2-1 at that point- if the JWP handball was awarded, they would’ve got a penalty, which could’ve seen the game end in a 2-2 draw.

This Jarrod Bowen goal vs Brighton (OFFICIAL VIDEO BELOW) was a lovely piece of skill from the England winger, showing a fantastic first touch to control Said Benrahma’s cross and then a beautiful nonchalant finish. Nice counter attack from West Ham, with Antonio and Benrahma both playing pivotal roles. Bowen was literally in his own box when the move started and ran the length of the pitch!

Star Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice needed help from Arsenal’s medical staff to adjust his contact lenses during their league game against Crystal Palace on 21 August, 2023.
The medio is known to wear glasses off the pitch- here is a pic of Rice wearing spectacles while attending a West Ham game.
Rice first asked Thomas Partey about the position of his lens and then Arsenal’s medical staff came on the field, and one of them then held up a mirror. Rice then made the necessary adjustments to the lens in his right eye (see picture below) and was then okay to continue on the pitch.
It’s rare to think of a famous Premier League player having slightly poor eyesight and having to wear contact lenses on the pitch, but Rice manages them fairly well- he was also MOTM against Palace.
