Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has become a proud father after his partner Georgia McNeil gave birth to the couple’s first son. The duo have named the baby, who weighed 7 pounds and 3 ounces at birth, Cassius Joseph Barton. Cassius was the original name of boxing great Mohammad Ali before he converted to Islam. The baby boy was born at London’s Portland Hospital.
Barton released a photo of his baby son Cassius to his followers on social networking site Twitter ( see image above)
Hoops captain Barton rushed to hospital where his girlfriend was in labour after helping QPR draw 1-1 against Swansea yesterday in the Premiership.
Fans and friends alike were quick to wish Barton on the birth of his baby son, with Hoops owner Tony Fernandes, team mate Alejandro Faurlin and Everton’s Phil Neville all congratulating him.
