Chelsea’s new shirt sponsor to be Yokohama Rubber

Yokohama Rubber have been announced as Chelsea FC’s new shirt sponsors, replacing Samsung after the two parties signed a five year agreement. The deal is worth $60m/season (40 million pounds per season) and is more than double of what Samsung used to pay the Blues.

Turkish Airlines were rumoured to be Chelsea’s new kit sponsors after it became known that the Samsung deal was ending after the 14/15 Premier League season, but Yokohama have won the race with their bid, easily the biggest shirt sponsorship deal in Chelsea’s history

Picture- Dunkin’ Donuts Liverpool Crest Controversy 2015- DD apologises for replacing Hillsbrough flames with Iced Coffees

Dunkin’ Donuts found itself in hot water with Liverpool fans after replacing the club crest with a modified DD one on social media site Twitter. The American company tweeted an altered version of the crest, and Reds fans were particularly incensed about the replacement of the Hillsbrough flames with iced coffees.

The famous “You’ll never walk one” was replaced with the slogan “America runs on Dunkin”, with the Shankly Gates also making way for a few doughnuts and a coffee (see picture below)

Dunkin’ Donuts are Liverpool’s official “coffee, tea and bakery provider” after the Reds inked a multi million pound deal with them in January 2014.

After the backlash, with Liverpool fans accusing the club of “selling its soul”, DD quickly defended the offending tweet and apologised “for any insensitivity” towards the club’s crest. They also added that “they did not intend any offense, particularly to the club’s supporters”
