This call by referee Andre Marriner for NOT giving Raheem Sterling a penalty (VIDEO GIF BELOW) was a controversial moment in City’s 2-2 draw against Spurs at home on 21 January, 2017. Walker pushed Sterling as he was advancing on goal but the latter chose not to dive and his attempt lacked power. Less than a minute later, Son scored the equaliser for Spurs at the other end. The call left Guardiola angry on the sidelines- it could’ve been 3-1 to City and a potential red card for Walker.
This superb Wayne Rooney goal vs Stoke (GIF VIDEO BELOW) was a stunning free kick from the Manchester United star deep into second half stoppage time. Rooney’s free kick v Stoke was the equaliser for United in this clash on 21 January, 2017, his 250th goal for the club and saw him break Sir Bobby Charlton’s record to become the club’s all time record goal scorer.
And he did it on a cold Saturday afternoon in Stoke!
