This Lyon penalty vs Juventus was a very controversial one from the second leg of their CL knock out tie, with Rodrigo Bentancur seemingly penalised for a foul on OL’s Aouar. Replays however clearly showed that Bentancur got the ball, with clarification later coming in that it was for a foul by Bernardeschi (Jersey 33) and not Bentancur. Memphis Depay stepped up and to add insult to injury for Juve, scored a cheeky panenka penalty, and it was this goal that knocked Juve out on the away goals rule.
This Raheem Sterling goal vs Real Madrid saw some terrible defending from Los Blancos, with Raphael Varane caught in possession by Gabriel Jesus and virtually gifting Man City an opening goal in the second leg of their knockout tie at the Etihad on 7 August, 2020. The Varane howler against City came in the 9th minute- Thibault Courtois and the Real defenders were passing it amongst each other, but the City pressure told and resulted in an error, resulting in an easy tap in for Sterling.
