Scunthorpe United were thrashed 5-1 by Everton in the third round of the 2011 FA Cup, with five different scorers netting for the Toffees.

China caused one of the upsets of the tournament when they beat current Gulf Cup champions Kuwait 2-0 in Group A on January 8, 2011. Kuwait also finished the game with ten following a Mesaed Nada red card.
Kuwait lost their first game of the 2011 Asian Cup 2-0 to China, and one of the reasons for their loss was this red card to defender Mesaed Nada in the 35th minute.
Nada sticks his foot into the groin of China striker Yang Xu and gets a red card from the referee.
