David Bentley signs a new contract

Blackburn winger David Bentley has signed a new contract with the club. The contract ensures that the former Arsenal player will stay at Ewood Park till the summer of 2011.
The Lancashire club signed Bentley from Arsenal on the last day of the 2006 January transfer window. He also had an earlier loan spell at the club.

Bentley has been in great form for Blackburn this season, and has been the subject of interest from many clubs, including leaders Manchester United. He has scored some stunning goals this season – remember the volley against Salzburg in the UEFA Cup ??

The winger also has a hattrick against Manchester United to his name- not many people can boast of that.

Bentley has played for England at U-18 and U-21 levels- his most recent appearance being against Spain at Pride Park where he was the standout player for the home side.
