This Jonjo Shelvey red card vs Manchester United ( VIDEO BELOW) reduced Liverpool to ten men in their fixture against the Red Devils on September 23, 2012. Shelvey’s dismissal came in the 39th minute for a challenge on Man Utd’s Jonny Evans

The game was still at 0-0 when Shelvey was red carded by referee Mark Halsey, with Liverpool unable to force an opener despite having the lions share of possession. As the medio left the field, he had words to say to Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who simply responded with a smile.

Manchester United eventually won the game 2-1.

  2. Why hasn’t anyone commented on Evans jumping in with two straight legs been mentioned? If any of you bad played the game….you would know that is a a far dangerous 2 footed tackle!

    Jonjo is an idiot for arguing with Man Utd players, ref and SAF.

    Ref Halsey needs to be investigated, or at least not be utilized in major games.
