This stunning Philippe Mexes goal vs Anderlecht ( VIDEO BELOW) reminded one and all of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s incredible goal for Sweden against England. Mexes, like Ibra, scored a spectacular long range overhead kick, but while the Swede is a striker, Mexes is a centre back by profession, making the goal even more remarkable.

Mexes received the ball on the edge of the box from a set piece and chested it perfectly before unleashing an acrobatic bicycle kick. Milan went on to win the game 3-1 and qualified for the round of 16.

Marginally better than Ibra’s for two reasons
Mexes a defender and TWO, Ibra knew there was no one back in goal but the keeper was in position to stop Mexes’ shot if wanted

to the people comparing his goal to Ibra’s…..There is no comparison…. Ibra’s goal was far far better and harder to score.
