Controversial Trent Alexander Arnold foul on Calvert Lewin for Sigurdsson penalty vs Liverpool 2021

This TAA foul on DCL was a controversial incident, with referee Chris Kavanagh immediately pointing to the spot in the Merseyside derby earlier today. He was asked to go to the monitor by VAR, but took a very, very quick look before choosing not to change his decision. The resultant Sigurdsson penalty v Liverpool put Everton 2-0 up & gave them a historic win at Anfield

  1. Don’t think that’s a penalty tbh.

And did referee Kavanagh even look at the monitor? He barely glanced at it for a second… should’ve taken into account that VAR asking him to go to the monitor meant there was a good case for the decision to be overturned.
