Controversial Lewis Dunk disallowed free kick goal vs WBA | Lee Mason referee VAR incident Brighton

This disallowed Lewis Dunk free kick goal vs West Bromwich Albion was yet ANOTHER controversial incident involving referee Lee Mason. Dunk thought he had the ball in the back of the net from a Brighton free kick, only for Mason to first disallow the goal. He then awards the goal, & then again disallows it!

More disappointment for Brighton following the earlier missed penalty from Gross.

  1. So Mason blows his whistle, Dunk takes the free kick, but Mason blows again before it crosses the line because he thinks goalkeeper wasn’t ready, and goal therefore disallowed?

    Ridiculous.

  2. Wasnt there a player standing offside hindering the view of the keeper anyway? I think the ref made a mistake but I imagine it would have been disallowed anyway.
