French Footballer of the Year 2017 N’Golo Kante- Best French Player of the season

Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante has been named as French Footballer of the Year for 2017. The former Leicester star won the poll, as voted for by previous winners of the title, pipping rising star Kylian Mbappe to second place. Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema finished third, with last season’s winner, Atleti forward Antoine Griezmann, taking fourth place.

Dimitri Payet was third last year but misses out on the top 10 altogether this time around.

Somewhat bizarrely, Zinedine Zidane didn’t have Mbappe in his top five choices. He voted for Benzema and Varane as 1 and 2 respectively.
