Tottenham Hotspur recall on loan keeper Ben Alnwick

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has recalled Ben Alnwick from his loan spell at Carlisle United. Alnwick was brought to Brunton Park by ex Carlisle boss John Ward on a one month loan in October, and made his six appearances in his four week stay at the club. Caretaker boss John Abott has said that he would have liked Alnwick to stay for another two months, but understood the circumstances in which he was being recalled to White Hart Lane.

Alnwick, 21, was signed by Tottenham from Sunderland in January 2007 for £900,000. He has not made his first team Spurs debut yet, and has also had loan spells at Luton Town and Leicester City.

Didier Drogba banned for three matches

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has been banned for three matches by the FA following a Regulatory Commission hearing on Tuesday. The Ivory Coast striker had apologised for his behaviour after the incident, but a ban was always on the cards given that Jamie Carragher had also got a three match ban for a similar offence six years ago.
