The group stages for the Champions League 2014/15 season was done today (August 28th, 2014), and Liverpool’s return to Europe has seen them land a fairly decent draw with Real Madrid, Basel and Ludogorets. Ludogorets, of course, had a defender save two penalties in the shootout to qualify for the knockout stages.
Chelsea probably have the easiest draw among English teams, drawn with Schalke, Sporting and Maribor.
Man City face a tricky group, with Bayern and Roma also with them.
This awful Fernando Torres attempt vs Real Sociedad (VIDEO BELOW) probably summed up the Chelsea forward’s pre-season at Stamford Bridge. Second half substitute Torres had an attempt on goal minutes after coming on, but embarrassingly so, it was NOWHERE on target. Not as bad as his terrible miss vs Ljubljana, but clearly not the best space to be in before the beginning of a new league season.
