The draw for the 2017/2018 Champions League semifinals were conducted today (April 13, 2018) and the two surprise winners of their respective quarterfinals- Liverpool (over Man City) and Roma (over Barcelona) will now meet for a spot in the final in Kiev. The other semifinal pits Bayern Munich against Real Madrid- the seventh time these two European heavyweights have met in the last four of the competition.
Bayern’s current coach Jupp Heynckes was also Real manager when the latter won the Champions League back in 1998.
Liverpool v Roma is also a repeat of the 1984 European Cup final, which was won by the Reds on penalties at the Olimpico.
