Weekend Premiership results- 17-18 March

Here are the results from the Premiership. Arsenal and Liverpool faltered, but Chelsea and United won their respective games.
Chelsea 3-0 Sheffield United ( Andriy Shevchenko, Salomon Kalou, Michael Ballack)

Chelsea win a vital Premiership game ahead of their cup replay against Spurs.

Blackburn 1-2 West Ham ( Cherno Samba/ Carlos Tevez, Bobby Zamora)

Some much need relief for Alan Curbishley as his West Ham side came back from a goal down to secure all three points.

Manchester United 4-1 Bolton ( Park Ji Sung*3, Cristiano Ronaldo/ Gary Speed)

Park scored his first hattrick in the Premiership as United demolished Bolton with a sublime performance. Gary Neville was stretchered off, and will miss the game against Boro. Three goals conceded from deadball situations would certainly not have pleased Big Sam, and Speed managed to convert a penalty late into the game. Ronaldo showed great pace in the game.

Middlesbrough 0-2 Manchester City ( Sylvain Distin, Emile Mpenza)

City did themselves a huge favour by managing to pull off an unexpected result at the Riverside.

Reading 0-0 Portsmouth

A game dominated by the defences of two teams with a chance of getting into Europe next season

Tottenham 3-1 Watford ( Jenas, Robinson, Ghaly/ Henderson)

An absolute freakish but stunning goal from 80 yards out from Spurs keeper Robinson is what this game will be remembered for.

Wigan 0-0 Fulham

A goalless draw at the JJB. Caleb Folan injured his ankle and is most likely going to miss his country’s friendly against Wales, which would have also marked his international debut had he played.

Aston Villa 0-0 Liverpool

Goalless draw here too, but Villa might feel that the referee should have given them a penalty when Petrov’s heel was clipped in the box.

Everton 1-0 Arsenal ( Andrew Johnson)

A late AJ goal sees Everton grab all three points at Goodison. 7 players of the Toffees were cautioned during the game.

Charlton 2-0 Newcastle ( Zheng, Jerome Thomas)

Charlton, like fellow strugglers Manchester City and West Ham, earn a vital win at home. Both the goals were scored in the second half.
