Fulham sign Olivier Dacourt on loan

olivier-dacourtFulham have completed the signing of veteran midfielder Olivier Dacourt on loan from Internazionale. The Montreuil born French medio has joined the Cottagers on a six month loan deal, with Fulham having an option to buy the player permanently when the spell ends.

Fulham are Dacourt’s third Premiership club and seventh overall. He started his career with Strasbourg in 1992, crossed the Channel to Everton for a year in 1998 and then moved back to France in 1999 to join Lens. He returned to England in 2000 with Leeds United, and left the Whites in 2003 to join AS Roma. He joined Inter in 2005.

Dacourt is one of the names that Jose Mourinho wants to see out of the San Siro as he aims to trim the Nerazzurri squad.

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson managed Inter between 1995 and 1997 and again for a short while in 1999.

Fulham have also given veteran midfielder Danny Murphy a new one year contract.
