Russian giants Zenit St.Petersburg have announced the signing of Hungarian midfielder Szabolcs Huszti from German Bundesliga club Hannover 96 for an undisclosed fee.
The stylish midfielder signed for Hannover in July 2006 from French club Metz for £210,000. He played 81 games for Hannover, scoring 17 goals for Die Roten. He was linked with a move to Bundesliga club Hamburger SV, but has moved to Russia instead.
Huszti started his career with local club Ferencvaros and a spent a season on loan at FC Sopron before being signed by Metz in 2005.
The 25 year old enjoyed an excellent 2007-08 season with Hannover, featuring in all but one league game.
Huszti is the second midfielder that Zenit have signed in the winter, the other being Igor Semshov from Dinamo Moscow.
