El Clasicos are never short of controversy. This one ( on 18th January, 2012) between Madrid and Barcelona in the Copa del Rey wasn’t short on it either. Real Madrid’s Portuguese defender appeared to stamp on Barca star Lionel Messi’s hand during the fixture. Barcelona eventually won the fixture 2-1 through goals from Abidal and Puyol.

My two favorite teams in the World, more Barca than Madrid, but with all the Madrid players becoming animals against Barca, I loss a little love for them with each game. Pepe has to be penalized for the hand stomping, it is caught on video and blatantly purposeful. He should sit out next two games. I really dislike him now. Madrid is very talented, why do they have to resort to abuse of opponents, Barca just plays a great game of soccer, that’s what I sit down to watch, not abuse.

They have no clue that how much stake iis involved in sport and how much responsibility is bestowed on them. What ever they do rests on the shoulder of foofball associations because they do nothing to hold the referees accountable. Everything is done behind closed door. Until technology is introduced to help us make decisions based on objective facts it would be foolish to rely and expect and entrust such power which involves possibly billions of pounds operation on one referee alone.

I agree that what Pepe did to Messi was very dirty I mean Messi is fantastic I guess Pepe felt the only way to stop him was to try and injury him but I don’t agree with all the talk about the coach at fault or lying about knowing what his player was going to do as if it was a game plan to do what Pepe did. I really disagree that the hole team should receive bad press because of one or two players stupidity and even going so far as to say Ronaldo is losing the respect of fans because of other players actions just isn’t fair, unrealistic and really doesn’t make since if your a fan your a fan you cant just switch sides and love one team and dislike the other when you feel players and not all of team is playing unfairly that really just makes you a spectator and not a fan in my opinion.
