This is the how the Europa League Round of 32 draw panned out this afternoon in Nyon, Switzerland. The EL knockout stage draw took place at 1pm UK time, after the conclusion of the Champions League Round of 16 draw that gave us Man Utd vs Real Madrid and Arsenal vs Bayern amongst others. As always, two teams from the same country cannot be drawn together in the knockout stage.
The first legs of the Europa League Round of 32 fixtures will be played on February 14, 2012 with the return leg taking place a week later.
Defending Champions League champions Chelsea fell into the Europa League after failing to qualify from their CL group and will face relatively easy opposition in the form of Sparta Prague. Liverpool have a tricky fixture against Zenit, while Newcastle will face Dynamo Kiev. Spurs have a tough one against Lyon, while defending champions Atletico Madrid will take on Rubin Kazan.
