Mario Mandzukic’s fantastic bicycle kick goes in vain as Real become the first team in the modern CL era to defend their crown after a 4-1 win over Juventus in Cardiff. Some controversy in the end, with Sergio Ramos’ role to get Cuadrado sent off.
This Cuadrado red card vs Real Madrid (GIF VIDEO BELOW) saw the Colombian international sent off late in the second half. Cuadrado, a second half sub for Barzagli, collected two yellows, and this second yellow led to his dismissal. Prima facie, absolutely embarrassing play acting from Sergio Ramos one has to probably say- one mild push from Cuadrado, and he went down in agony. A poor way to ruin a fantastic final, which saw Real triumph despite Mario Mandzukic scoring one of the all time great CL goals.
This Mandzukic goal vs Real Madrid (GIF VIDEO BELOW) was the equaliser for Juve after Cristiano Ronaldo had put Real ahead. Mandzukic’s goal against Real was an incredible overhead kick from the Croatian striker- one of the best goals in Champions League finals history, if not the best. Stunning strike from around 16 yards out. It however went in vain as Real went on to win 4-1, thereby becoming the first team to defend their crown in the modern CL era.
