Rolando goal vs Salzburg 2018 Marseille- Ocampos deflection- non existent corner- Poor refereeing example Europa League?

By Soccer Blog | May 4, 2018

This controversial Rolando goal vs Salzburg put Marseille into the Europa League final at the expense of their Austrian opponents. Salzburg, trailing 2-0 from the first leg, took the game to extra time with two second half goals. Deep into second half injury time, Marseille were awarded a corner that should not have been a corner, with the ball taking a deflection off OM player Ocampos. However a corner was awarded to Marseille and Rolando nodded in from Payet’s set piece.

One of several examples of poor refereeing in the 2017/18 season- another being Marcelo’s handball not penalised v Bayern.

Salzburg 2-1 Marseille (Rolando goal vs Salzburg 116′)
