Liverpool’s poor Premier League run continued as they were upset at home by Blackpool. Tangerines skipper Charlie Adam opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Glen Johnson had fouled Luke Varney. Varney himself scored Blackpool’s second on the stroke of half time.
Greek defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos pulled one back for Liverpool in the second half, but the Reds could not produce another goal and Blackpool held on for a famous win.
