Liverpool comfortably beat Arsenal 3-1 to maintain their 100% start to the new league season. The xG score almost perfectly mirrored the actual scoreline for the game- 3-1. Liverpool’s xG of 2.79 in this game against the Gunners was the highest of the three games they’ve played so far this season (2.23 against Norwich and 1.52 against Southampton)

Arsenal’s 0.81 was also the first time this season they’ve been kept to a XG score below 1- they were 1.13 against Newcastle and 1.16 against Burnley. It was also poorer than what both Norwich (0.84) and Southampton (2.14) managed against Liverpool in their respective games.
