PFA Premiership Team of the Year 2016- 4 Leicester & Spurs players, no Ozil

Four players each from Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur have made it to the PFA Premiership Team of the Year for 2015/16. The Foxes have Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez, N’Golo Kante and Wes Morgan on the list while the Lilywhites are represented by Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld.

Leicester skipper Morgan has now been named in his division’s Team of the Year in four of the last six seasons (thrice when LCFC when in the Championship and now once in the Premier League)

Manchester United stopper David de Gea is in goal, while West Ham and Arsenal have one representative each in the form of Dimitri Payet and Hector Bellerin respectively.

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil, who is a nominee of the PFA Player of the Year, doesn’t find a spot in this TOTY announcement.

More interesting to note is the relative costs of the players involved. At first glance, David de Gea appears to be the most expensive player in the list (around £18m), but apart from him, Alderweireld and Payet, no one else cost their respective teams more than 10 million pounds. More than half the squad was bought for l million pounds or less!- Kane, Bellerin, Mahrez, Morgan, Rose and Vardy
