Manchester United 0-2 Coventry City ( Mifsud*2)

Manchester United have been knocked out of the 48th League Cup by Coventry City, with Michael Mifsud scoring both goals for the Bluebirds. I happened to stumble upon a comment on a forum where a person wondered whether MU secretly wanted to avoid the pressure of another tournament on their head- with the FA Cup, the Premiership and Europe already present. Micah Richards in his column at the BBC, has said that team mate Michael Johnson has the capability to play for England one day.

Yours truly agrees with the nineteen year old Manchester City and England defender. Both Richards and Johnson are 88 born- Richards in June, while Johnson entered this world in February. (more…)

Arsenal 5-0 Derby County ( Adebayor*3, Fabregas, Diaby)

No less than what was expected, and Arsenal stay at the top of the table.

Fulham 3-3 Manchester City ( Davies, Bouazza, Murphy/ M.Petrov*2, Mpenza)

While Arsenal strolled to a win over Derby, their fellow Londoners had an action packed game against Manchester City which yielded six goals. City twice came back from one goal down to take the lead, but substitute Danny Murphy ensured that Fulham walked out of the game with a point. (more…)

Manchester City defender Micah Richards is reportedly expecting to sign a new deal which will extend his stay at the City of Manchester stadium. Richards, who has been in excellent form in the Premiership so far, is currently contracted to the club 2010. He had signed a four year deal in October 2006 along with Joey Barton, who now is no longer associated with the club.
