This Adrian mistake for Ollie Watkins goal v Liverpool was a howler from the Spanish goalkeeper, deputising for the injured Alisson in their game earlier today. Andy Robertson passes it back to Adrian following a throw in, but he panicks under Villa’s pressing and attempts a pass to Joe Gomez. Unfortunately the pass isn’t precise, it’s picked up by an opposition player, who gives it to Watkins, who duly does the rest.
This Souness reaction to Erik Lamela saw allegations of racism being levelled towards the former Blackburn boss, who said “It’s pathetic, it’s very Latin” while doing punditry and analysing Lamela’s actions for Martial’s red card against Tottenham. Souness also added- “that’s not us, and it’s in our game now”, saying that he had both played and worked in a Latin country and knew how “they” viewed the game.
