List of Teams Relegated from EFL Championship (2024-2025 Season) to League One

Here is the list of three teams that have been relegated from the EFL Championship in 2025 (2024/25 season) to League One, and will therefore be playing in the English third tier for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

Which teams were relegated from the Championship at the end of the 24/25 season?

Luton Town, Plymouth Argyle and Cardiff City were relegated from the EFL Championship at the end of the 2024-25 season.

This was a second successive relegation for Luton Town– Luton were relegated from the Premier League to the Championship in 2024, & now from the Championship to League 1 in 2025.

Luton Town are therefore the fourth team to have a double relegation from the Premier League.

Cardiff and Plymouth were already in the relegation zone in the Championship table at Christmas time in December 2024, but Luton were 15th back then. Oxford United were 23rd in the standings at Xmas 2024, but managed to finish 17th and didn’t get relegated.

On the Athletic Bilbao side, they thought Jauregizar in midfield and Nico Williams were particularly disappointing (not even given a rating), and the Bilbao goalkeeper was the only player who managed more than a single star in their ratings.
