Here are the player ratings for Italy vs Albania at Euro 2024 from the big European sports newspapers. The Italians won 2-1 thanks to goals from Bastoni and Barella after Bajrami had given Albania a shock first minute lead.

CdS gave Arsenal midfielder Jorginho a 6/10 for his performance here; his midfield partner Barella was the pick of the players in their eyes with a 8/10.

Armando Broja got a 5/10 player rating from CdS, with goalkeeper Strokosha the highest rated Albanian player with a 7/10.

The French paper gave both Broja and Jorginho a 6/10 here, with Barella getting a 8.

Interestingly, L’Equipe didn’t think of Strokosha’s performance too highly, giving him only a 4/10. Broja was also the best Albanian player on the afternoon according to them, as can be seen below.

Here is a look at the player ratings for Germany vs Scotland (Euro 2024 opening game) from the big European newspapers (Bild, L’Equipe and Marca). An evening to forget for the Scots as they were thrashed 5-1, with Porteous also getting a red card.

Jamal Musiala and Ilkay Gundogan got the best 1 rating while Arsenal’s Kai Havertz got a 2. Bild thought Scott McTominay was the best of the Scotland players on show, giving him a 4 rating. Tierney got the worst possible 6 rating while Andy Robertson was given a 5.

Jamal Musiala again considered the best of the German players- he was given a 8/10. Havertz got a 7/10 rating here from the French paper.

On the Scottish side, no one got more than 3/10 from L’Equipe. Tierney got a 2/10 from the paper while Robertson and McTominay were both given a 3/10.

Here is a look at the player ratings from the likes of L’Equipe, Marca and Diario AS following Real Madrid’s Champions League win over Dortmund at Wembley.

Real Madrid were poor in the first half, but dominated after the interval.

The best player on either side according to L’Equipe was Thibault Courtois, who got a 8/10 rating for his performance against Dortmund. The lowest, according to them, was Maatsen, who got a 2/10 (his mistake lead to Real Madrid’s second goal). The French paper had given Ademola Lookman a 10/10 in the Atalanta Leverkusen game.

L’Equipe didn’t think this was a final great on quality, as evinced by the team ratings for both sides- both less than 6/10.
